The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway has been closed for vehicular traffic due to snowfall across Jawahar tunnel; landslides and shooting stones at different places, an official from Traffic said on Tuesday.
Pertinently Snowfall and heavy rain across Jammu and Kashmir ended a month-long dry spell in the state on Monday.
Gulmarg, the famous ski-resort in north Kashmir, recorded about 2 feet of fresh snowfall.
Pertinently in southern Kashmir areas including Kokernag recorded 4 inch of snow, Larnoo 5 inch, Pahalgam 7 inch, Achabal 3 inch, Jt/DH Pora 8 inch, Kund Qazigund 4 inch, Pulwama 3 inch, Sangarbani 6 inch, Heerpora 10 inch, Kellar 6 inch and Tral recorded 1, 1/2 inch of snow.
Meanwhile National Highway/ Mughal road closed has also been closed for traffic, however all district roads are operational.
